University of Toronto Kendo Club

The University of Toronto Kendo Club was founded in September 1976 by David Johnson sensei. Kendo can be translated as “The Way of the Sword” and is a martial art tied to the Japanese samurai tradition. We are a student-run club, with a diverse mixture of university students, alumni and community members. We welcome any current or future kendoka to join our club, or simply visit us for a practice!
